Kylemore Abbey and Clifden

On Saturday, July 31st, we drove up to Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Gardens, then on to Clifden, hoping to take the boys to the beach.  Little did we know it was not a sandy beach and the perfect sandy beaches are right here in Galway!  Hee hee.  The boys were a bit disappointed until they got icecream.  Even though in miles these places are not far away, it took along time to get there.  Narrow, bumpy, windy roads.  They say the rest of the roads in Ireland are much better, we'll see!
The Abbey was beautiful.  Liked the outside better than the inside though, perhaps it was all the donation boxes that turned me off!
The walled garden was absolutely gorgeous.  Ruben's mom would have loved it!

1 mile walk to the walled garden.  There is a bus too.

Tea Room where we had lunch.

Victorian Walled Garden - 6 acres

Pictures of Clifden to follow.
