Kilworth, Co. Cork

Saturday, September 4 to Monday, September 6
After not being quite sure which was the best way to go, the long way with the better roads or the shorter distance with the bad roads and risk having sick boys, we took the long way and eventually made it to Kilworth in time for "tea"!

Hospitality abounded at the Tanner house!  Hillard, Stephanie, girls Rebecca (4) and Laura (2) and another baby due in November!  And we must not forget the 3 dogs, 1 being Sparky, which the boys LOVED and good thing Sparky was good natured because they didn't leave him alone much!

The kids became fast friends, all the kids have such good natures and wow, they played so well and were inseparable!  Before we left Texas, I had been emailing Stephanie thanks to our mutual friend Leaine.  Stephanie had been helping me with tips and hints, etc when it came to Ireland.  I truly enjoyed getting to know her, I think I made myself another friend too, eh Stephanie?! :)

The 2nd time Madelynne has fallen asleep with Ruben!
Now about the guest beds, we were ready to take ours with us!  It was the best 2 sleeps we've had since leaving Texas!  We unexpectedly slept in both days!  This deserves mentioning on the blog, as it's a big deal!  (Side note: Let's just say I haven't had much sleep, can't expect a vacation rental to have half decent beds right?!!)

Sunday was Union meeting, where 3 churches meet together.  It was nice to meet Laura Hendy, who laboured in Canada for years, and maybe she even met my Granny in Fairmont back in the 60's.  She has an amazing memory!!  After meeting we had a roast dinner that felt so good to eat!  Beef from a relies cow, potato's and veggies from the garden and cobbler with berries picked near by.  Ideal.  Not sure if we will ever be able to do that!

Sunday night the rest of Hillard's family came over for "supper".  I had met his folks and brothers in New Zealand at Connor and Leaine's wedding.  It was a great visit.

We got to see Rebecca get on the school bus Monday morning, in the rain, and then we headed towards Killarney and home.  The whole way home the boys asked to go back to the girls place.  They did NOT want to leave!

A lovely time was had by all!  Thanks Hillard and Stephanie!
The view from their beautiful new house.  Simply gorgeous.
This whole area has rolling hills and fields separated by trees.
What it would be like to have 5 kids with 1 more on the way :)

Laura, Hillard, Rebecca, Stephanie, baby #3 and of course... Sparky!

First time in a jumper, she wasn't so sure about it!

Blurry, sorry, but all I have! Stephanie, Hillard and his family: mom Vida, aunt Charlotte,
brother Derwin, dad Eddie, brother Eldon and then Ruben!

Our family Monday morning.
