Dublin City

Thursday, September 2 to Saturday, September 4.
Originally Ruben needed to go to Dublin, we decided we'd take the train, we had 2 excited boys!  Then it turned out Ruben didn't need to go, but we really wanted to give the boys a train ride once while here, so we went anyway!  They quite enjoyed themselves!

We stayed at a Best Western that raised the bar for any other one I have stayed in!  Clean, sleek, modern lines, lots of purple, it was really neat!  The family room was huge, I recommend this place!  And it's right beside Heuston Station, where the train comes in.  http://www.ashlinghotel.ie/

It was great to have daddy to tour with us on a Friday!  Wasn't too busy.  We took the Dublin Bus Tour around.  Narrow roads, passing other buses, tailgating the car ahead, brushing against trees, one liner jokes, traditional Irish songs playing (songs that reminded me of my mother singing them!)... all part of the driving experience which is fun!  The boys loved being up top without a roof.  I loved the architecture.  Some very old, some very new, some mixed in a very interesting way.  The bridges and the river were pretty too!  Ruben had work calls later Friday, then we went out for some tasty Italian food by the river.

Saturday we caught the 9:30 AM train back to Galway, repacked, Ruben had a quick nap, then hopped in the car and headed south to Cork!
Just leaving Galway.

St. Stephens Green Park

Feeding the ducks, then a man came with a basket full of bread that he threw out in whole pieces, birds everywhere then!  Mom would have loved that!  Joke!

Tipping the entertainers.  These young guys were very good!

Georges St.

I thought Grandma Mary would like this!

Taken just before attempting to pass the other bus, while on the tail of another car.  Crazy driver!

Heading back to Galway.  Madelynne loves sharing apples with me now!
Add a cookie in the mix, my sister would love sharing all these slobbery germs!
